Say Goodbye To Wobbly Tables

How many things can you think of that are more frustrating and distracting than having a nice meal interrupted by a shaky or wobbly table? At one point, we have already probably been the unlucky person who chose the one table in the restaurant that was unstable.

Since 1958, JI Bases has dedicated a significant amount of time and effort to create the type of table bases that restaurants need to avoid the wobbly table problem. Restaurants need tables that will allow them to create a welcoming and satisfied environment. When someone sits at a table in a restaurant, they should not have to be concerned with a table.

At JI Bases, we know that there are several problems that can result in wobbly tables.

Problem 1: The Cast Iron vs. Stamped Steel Debate

Many table bases are equipped with top plates that are made from stamped steel. However, stamped steel is not always strong enough to prevent a table from wobbling. It can easily warp or bend out of shape. However, there is an alternative, and that alternative is cast iron. Cast iron is able to withstand more weight than stamped steel because cast iron has a higher compacting strength.

Cast iron can bear more weight without bending, regardless of the type of table top that is being used. Since cast iron is heavier than stamped steel, the total balance of the table will be increased because the gravitational forces are changed. At JI Bases, we have three different sizes of top plates and these can be used for more sizes of tops.

Problem 2: Uneven Floors or Base Plates

Many base plates do not always stand properly on the floor. Sometimes this is a result of the floor being uneven or it may be because the column wasn't cut "square." However, if the problem is a combination of both, the situation can be compounded.

We know how important it is for restaurants to have sturdy, stable tables and that is why we make it a point to ensure our columns are always cut square; and that our base plates have easily adjustable glides to help make up the small difference of an uneven floor. Unfortunately, if you start out with an uneven floor, JI Bases can't help you there.

Our quality control standards are such that each cast iron table base is lifetime guaranteed. If you have a problem, or breakage issues, call us and we'll be on it to resolve the issue.

Leave The Wobbly Tables Behind

Do not lose customers or your good reputation by removing tables or placing them out of service due to them being unstable and wobbly. At JI Bases, our cast iron bases are structurally more durable than stamped steel. At a restaurant, we know that there is always a chance that chair legs and human legs can come in contact with the base. However, since the castings are more durable and strong, there will be no bending or flexing of the product.

In order for table bases to withstand the table tops that are placed on them, table bases need to have a heavy weight to them. You do not want to take the chance of having your table tops leaning or falling completely on the floor under normal circumstances, right?

Sitting at a wobbly table can leave a bad taste in the mouth of those who wanted to have a great meal but instead had their meal interrupted by a bad table. No one wants to take time out of their meal to prop their table with random items they can find in the restaurant.

If you are looking for instant stabilization, greater durability, design integration, and more, now is the right time to reach out to JI Bases.
