All About Table Bases—and then some!

What's under your table top?

What's under your table top?  Don't know?  Don't care? You should!

Fact - Table bases are a requirement.  Many feel that this fact is simply fulfilled by providing the cheapest base out there.  After all, it just has to support the table top.  No one sees it, no one pays any attention to it, and so why spend any more than you have to on it?

The reality is that purchasing a solid foundation that will enhance your operations should be imperative, rather than based solely on price.  By having that perfect fit whether your top is small or large means having top plates that are different sizes.  That perfect fit also means that the base is weighted properly and that the columns won't spin under the tops. So, if that perfect fit costs a slight bit more, it is well worth the investment.

Competition in the food service industry, whether quick serve, family, or fine dining gets more intense each year.  Diners go where they feel most comfortable, which means facilities are now undergoing "re-imagining" of their operations. Regardless of the success of the furnishings, fabrics, lighting, wall decor, etc. without the proper foundation under the table top all is lost.

  • A wobbly, insubstantial table suggests inferior quality and cheapens the whole dining experience.
  • A poorly designed base is a nightmare to keep clean and well-maintained.
  • Residential tables and table bases, while attractive, simply won't hold up to the demands of a busy food service operation.

The Jacobs family has been in the hospitality furniture manufacturing business since 1958 and continues to maintain high quality control standards and no-excuses customer service.  Your gateway for the only solid foundation your operation will need is simply a phone call away.
